About me

I’m a ham radio operator, and this is my blog about ham radio. In another life I was a geologist, and you’ll see a lot of geology discussed here. In a parallel life I am a geographer, an artist, and a photographer. Since I don’t carry my good camera with me for my ham radio activities (on account of the radio taking up that space in my pack) you will have to make do with potato phone photos.

You will encounter a lot of geographical analysis here. And geography, and land, and people and power structures that inhabit it are, by their own nature, political. There will likely be glimpses of my feelings on things: predominantly the gentrification the land I live in and call home is experiencing by wealthy people, and the impacts that has on poor middle and working class schlubs like me. Don’t like it? Scroll on or go live on a planet without humans.
